Become a partner in “Bridging The Gap!” – Extend a helping hand by donating a box of non-perishable food items to individuals and families in our community who need assistance in meeting their food needs. Please stop by the table in foyer for further information or to sign-up. For more information please call the church office at 703.941.2312 and speak with Angelica or Liz.
Embarrassment Sunday – April 2nd, during the 10:30am service. Wear something embarrassing…like…dress like your mom or dad, wear inside-out clothes, wear things that don’t match, or forget to comb your hair. Winner of the most embarrassing outfit gets church bucks!
Marriage & Pre-marriage Class – begins Wednesday April 5th, 7pm (room to be determined). Are you getting married this year? This 8-session class is a requirement for couples getting married at Word of Life and helpful for all couples planning to get married. Workbooks, $25. Returning graduates may attend the new class for free. Nursery and age appropriate classes are available for children during the class time. Facilitators, Rev. Easter Breakfast Tickets – now available at the table in the foyer. Saturday, April 15th, 8am. $5 per person. $10 at the door. Free Flashlight Egg Hunt following the breakfast.
Candy Donations are needed for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Please place your donations of individually wrapped candies in the designated box in the foyer.
All Construction People! We need your help to build some more maze walls for our children’s outreach, Saturday morning, April 8th, 9 am to noon, outside by the garage. Bring hammers, staple guns and lots of energy! Maze Construction will begin on Thursday, April 13th, 7:30am and continue all day and evening until 8pm. Bring portable drills! We will also be working all day Friday the 14th as well. Come and help any time you’re available! Please send your name and phone number and when you’ll be available to email@example.com.
Tax Preparation is available at no cost to our Congregation – There are over 300 IRS certified volunteers located at twelve sites to assist with federal and state taxes; free to lower and middle income taxpayers. Philippines Missions Trip – Partner: Darrell & Sandy Blatchley, AG missionaries in Davao City, co-founded Family Circus Ministry to create high impact, joyful methods to present the Gospel to children and their families and communities. Ministry focus: Children ministry, hospital/jail visitation, construction and practical ministries. Trip duration: 10-12 days between Oct. 19th-30th. Estimated Cost: $2,000. One2OneCommunity Outreach – Meet at the church (1st Saturday of month) for Prayer, Instruction and Christian Witnessing flyers to hand out into our community and tell others about Christ. Youth Camp – June 26th-30th. Ages 7th-12th grade. $240.00 per camper. Register with $150 by Sunday, April 23rd, $90 final payment due, Sunday, June 4th. Pine Creek Camp Grounds in Gore, VA. Stop by the table in the foyer for Application.
Kids Camp – July 24th-28th. Ages 8-12. $209 per camper. Pick up your registration packet at the table in the foyer. Deadline to register and pay in full is Sunday, May 7th.
Youth Missions Trip – LA Dream Center in Los Angeles, California, July 24th-July 31st. Students ages 16 and up. Application and $300 deposit is due. Total cost of trip $1,400.00 (You may click here to make a payment by credit card). The Dream Center is a volunteer-driven organization that finds and fills the needs of over 80,000 individuals and families each month. This is done through mobile hunger relief and medical programs, residential rehabilitation programs adults, a shelter for victims of human trafficking, transitional housing for homeless families, foster care intervention programs, job skills training, life skills, counseling, basic education, Bible studies and more. We will be working in all these areas of ministry.
March Madness – Wednesdays at 7pm for all students grades 6-12. This month we will be studying, How to Pick a Winning Team along with weekly team challenges/games.

Connection Class – Whether you’ve been attending Word of Life for a long time or have just joined our church family, we encourage you to attend our 4 week Connection Class. Learn about our heritage, our mission, our ministries, our leadership, and areas where you may serve in the church and community. Classes meet on a continual basis, Sundays 9:15am-10:15am in room A111. You may join us at any point in the 4 week series. Contact Liz Lucano at the church office or by email if you have any questions or need additional information. Although completion of this class is required for church membership, there is no obligation to become a member.
Rock Solid – Word of Life Discipleship Class. Visitors and regular attendees desiring to join in the discipleship lessons are invited to attend. Recent converts are encouraged to attend for discipleship. Contact the church office, 703.941.2312 or stop by the Welcome Center in the foyer for further information.
