A Joyful Step of Obedience and New Life

Water baptism is a biblical step of obedience and a joyful celebration of new life in Christ. At Word of Life, we believe baptism is a meaningful moment where faith becomes public and transformation is celebrated within the church family.

Jesus Himself modeled baptism, showing us the importance of obedience and surrender. In Luke 3:21, we read:
“When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened.”

Baptism doesn’t change your salvation—it celebrates it. It marks the beginning of a life committed to following Jesus with purpose, freedom, and faith.

Why We Practice Water Baptism

  • Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation.
  • Baptism is a command from Jesus and part of a growing disciple’s journey.

  • The word baptize means to immerse, symbolizing full surrender to Christ.

  • Baptism represents the burial of the old life and the start of a new way of living.

  • Baptism is not required for salvation, but it is a powerful step of obedience.

  • Baptism doesn’t get you to heaven—it declares that your life is now lived for God’s Kingdom.

Rooted in Scripture

At Word of Life, baptism is not a private moment—it’s a community celebration. As a church family, we rejoice, encourage one another, and walk together in faith. Baptism marks a step forward in discipleship, growth, and active participation in God’s work.

Matthew 28:19

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 2:38

“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ… And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

Romans 6:4

“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that… we too may live a new life.”
