Women’s Ministries

Women’s Bible Study– Wednesdays, 7pm-8:30pm, room A109. All ladies are welcome.

Mission:  To touch the lives of women and girls by the transforming power of Jesus Christ, discipling them to follow his example and training them to minister to others.

Goal:  To minister to every woman according to her need through prayer groups, Bible studies, and a variety of Ministry Groups at Word of Life, to help each woman find her personal place of ministry by involving her in some aspect of ministry.  Women of faith must bind together in prayer and support and be dedicated to the spreading of the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.  Missions has been the purpose of Women’s Ministries since its beginning.  At Word of Life many opportunities are given for women to be involved in every level of missionary outreach.

Ministry Opportunities

Bible Study – Weekly Bible studies are offered on Thursday at 10am with Lynda Thompson.

Outreach Ministry – Matthew 28:19-20.  Women reaching out to others and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Contact Lois White.

Hospitality Ministry – Designed for ladies who enjoy serving as a hostess, whether greeting women at the door, serving at the buffet table, or collecting offerings.  Contact Lois White.

Prayer Ministry – Prayer Chain teams who pray for special needs and requests.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is an opportunity for those who knit or crochet to make Healing Shawls for individuals who are battling an illness or facing difficulty. These are knitted or crocheted by church members and prayed over from the first to last stitch. The shawls are given to someone who is in need of an “outward and visible sign of God’s love”. We welcome donations for yarn and encourage those who can to make a shawl. Join us to pray, share, enjoy fellowship and create! Contact Lucy at lightstar0720@gmail.com for dates, location and directions.

Girl’s Ministry – Women ministering to girls through literature, arts and crafts, retreats, and many other ministry opportunities.  Contact Cheryl Furman.
