Lois Jean (Engle) Cover was born in Bedford Valley, PA March 26, 1936. Her parents were Harry Ferdinand and Clara Rebecca Engle. She married D. Wendel Cover, November 10, 1956. Their ministry was mainly in the Potomac District for the past more than 6o years but has reached to the ends of the earth through their Missions vision.  They served together as associate pastors in Central Assembly, Cumberland, MD from 1957-1963. They also pastored Flintstone MD Assembly during this time and rebuilt the church. In 1963 they were elected District Youth Directors for the Potomac District and served to 1977 when they were elected as pastors of Word of Life International Assembly of God in Springfield, VA where they still serve as Senior Pastors. After spending 16 days in the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA we brought her home and after only a couple hours she went home to be with her Lord that she served steadfastly since her girlhood days. Lois was greatly loved and known as mother to all who entered the doors of Word of Life. She especially loved and cared for babies and children in our church for many years. She is survived by her loving husband, D. Wendel Cover, four children: Rebecca Jean Myers, Janet Sue Cover, Christina Ann Slye, and Kevin Wendel Cover. She has one sister, Marcia Restly and three brothers, Floyd, Jim and Ken Engle. Also 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

We know her pain is over, but she will be greatly missed by all who knew her sweet, quiet spirit and love for God, her family and friends.

Donations may be made to Word of Life for a memorial to her in our Children’s Center.
